does anyone have a good load for AA8700 in a 300 win mag using a 180 grain bullet?

Wouldn't think AA8700 would be the powder of choice for a .300WinMag as it is too slow for my .416REM and .460WM. From what I could gather from the boys at AA, it is surplus .50 Browning powder, hence the cost. Cobalt

RL-22 and about 75 to 76 grs is the best of the slow burning powders, slower than that and you can't get enough powder in the case....

You might want to post this on the reloading section. We usually only discuss the 300 win case when it gets necked up to 375 or 416

AA8700 should be accurate in your rifle but it certainly won't deliver the velocity the 300 Win is capable of.

I prefer to shoot 200gr bullets in my 300 Win Mag. Since it has more case capacity than the 30-06, I choose to use it.

But that's a personal choice.

Anyhow, I've tested RL-25 in two different 300WM's (a Browning and a Winchester) and both gave excellent accuracy.

The load is...

200gr Nosler Partitions
78.0gr RL-25
Fed215 Primers
R-P brass

I always full-length resize, as these are for hunting, and I don't like tight clearances with my hunting ammo. (Another personal choice )
