Getting ready to break in my new CZ 550 American in 416 Rigby using Conley Precision Cartridge rounds in 350 gr. Barnes TSX. Anyone have experience with that load in the gun? Will probably reload my own after I shoot the three boxes I bought. Never reloaded before and now is not the time to experiment, need to get it sighted in and go. Hunt will be here before I know it.

BHW I guess I have no experience with that load. I really don't know what you are asking. If you are going to use them to just break in the gun just go and shoot them up cleaning in between. Is there another question I am missing? Good hunting. Although cartridge selection is important there is nothing that will substitute for proper first shot placement. Good hunting, "D"

Will use them to break in the gun as that is what I bought, but also look to use them to hunt with. Looking for input on their use for hunting in a CZ 416 Rigby

My .416 Rigby CZ 550 very much likes 98.0 grains of IMR 4350 with the 350 grain Barnes X on Norma Cases with Fed 215 primers. This load is relatively light, but delivers 2690 fps (5620 ft-lb of energy). Groups about 1" at 100 yards. Killed a Gemsbock with it on a trip to RSA in May 2004. Staggered the animal on imact. He made about 5 yards before he fell over. Never a worry about him being aggressive. Mike -------------- DRSS, Womper's Club, NRA Life Member/Charter Member NRA Golden Eagles ...
