oh, the rust ...
if i were to try and save this, assuming that the bore isn't a crawfish hole ----

i would take a wad of aluminum foil, and dip it in ATF, with it "Wet" rub on a small section -- trying to wash off the accumulated rust off the aluminium .. might need a couple wads ... this technique has the benefit of minimizing further damage due to the removal process ..
