oldun, If I were you, I would hope to, someday go to Africa and hunt DG with him. Unlike many here, he has been there and done it! Your African hunting wish, should include, Atkinson, and Ganyana. Roger QSL

It might interest you to know that Ray and I have been in contact with each other over the last few weeks and I consider him to be an internet Buddy of mine. At no time did I join in the ragging of Ray which took place on these pages. My conscience is clear and I have no problem in teasing him in absentia. Friends tease each other where I come from.

Isn't that precisely the source of the controversy?

I was just jokingly chiding you for stirring the pot, which you clearly were doing. I was not saying anything about Ray either pro or con. ------------------------------- Some Pictures from Namibia Some Pictures from Zimbabwe An Elephant Story

Looks a hell of a lot better than the Elmer Keith 458 in that other post too. Jason "Chance favors the prepared mind."

I handled that rifle at Ray's booth in Dallas at the Show. Really nice and trim, came up to the shoulder smoothly and built for a big guy like me with a 14" LOP...a great carry piece in a unique caliber. With todays premium bullets it could be a fun gun for Africa. Think of a two gun safari with your 9.3x62 and the 10.75...hell the only way to make it more authentic would be to speak only German on that trip... On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died. If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue, Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch... Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it, And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son! - Rudyard Kipling Life grows grim without senseless indulgence.

Hey, Wasn't someone missing Ray's yearly "favorite gun" sale? Well here ya go and it's a fine looking piece at that. Like him or not I’ve bought a rifle from Ray before and it was as advertised and the transaction was simple and honest. Like it should be.
