375 Ruger
News Flash. In case you were wondering, the 375 Ruger is COMPLETELY adequate for Whitetail Does. I was going to bring my 458, but since Buck season is over, I thought I'd "go light" with the 375 on a Doe hunt. Worked well. (DUH!) :-)

Jon, I bet you could do as Elmer Keith apply said, "eat right up to the hole."

Yup, a clean neck shot...I'll just have bones and hooves left when I'm done :-)

Heck I used my 416 for a doe season just because I can and could.

My 416 Ruger made a nice shot on this coyote @ 205yds! A 300gr TSX @ 2550fps stop it in its tracks Smiler

Great practice with the big guns!

I know what you mean by hole. I did not photo the other side of the dog as it left a hole you could put a full size football in sideways! Smiler

You should have used the 270 TSX. 300 grain bullets are not needed on a doe.
Also 250 grains and under are for varmint class

On safari in Namibia two years ago, the PH saw a jackal at about 200yds and told me to shoot it. I did. Offside was just as you stated on the coyote. Not worth saving the hide.
