Oberdorf Mauser
Hi Guys,
It's realised that could be a how long is a piece of string question, but what is a good condition, Original Oberdorf Mauser, type B; single trigger with the floor plate lever, in calibre 10.75x68 worth? It comes with 30 rounds of S&B ammunition.
Thanks.

I am probably a poor choice to answer, but depending on what it is (guild gun, cigerette gun, prewar, postwar) i would say from 1100-3500 .. it really does matter which of these.. for example, a cigarette gun COULD be the normal low end, as they could be made from a questionable action, in someone's garage, etc etc...

Between 2-3K depending on condition. It could be worth more if in SSB or DSB configuration.

Almost 2 years ago. It was 1914 vintage, excellent, all matching all original, probably was worth a little more, sold the first day on GunsAmerica. I have turned down offers for the other (1934 vintage) because I prefer the hinged floorplate and barrel contour and I like to shoot it. Recoil cross bolts are not original.

Thanks for that fla3006.
The one I have been offered is at $US2,050, which looks like a good buy.

The top one looks like a single stage trigger and the bottom one a two stage trigger, is that right?

That would be a good buy if it is unaltered, all original and excellent or better and the bore is bright & sharp. SSB & DSB refers to single square bridge and double square bridge, which would double or triple the value.

Gentlemen,
Thank you for your comments.

It wasn't untill after posting that I noticed the missing n, no matter it didn't prove problematic.

I have been wrong before, I know because my wife tells me so.

For hunting, particularly dangerous game hunting, beware of Mausers with that big, typically German, exposed floorplate opening levers-it is too easy for them to get pushed open accidentally in thick stuff and dump your magazine contents all over the place!
