Where would you suggest I buy some replacement open sights for a post 64 Model 70? It is a safari grade in .375HH. The factory sights were removed, lost and the holes filled with appropriate screws.

The front sight area has 2 holes, the rear has one.

Suggestons?

Thanks

Haven't need to replace sights on our M70, but I replaced the front sight on my CZ 550 i 500 Jeffery, and both front and rear sights on my Rem XCR II in 375 Weatherby. Used NECG both times, very happy

Chuck

If it does not have a rear sight island machine with the barrel, I would consider the model 70 express sight that Wiesner sells. Winchester used them on the safari express models.

Doesn't do any good to check with NECG, they have over 200 back orders and still waiting for shipments from Germany

JIm Wisner makes that old adjustable rear sight for the pre 64 375 rifles and they are good on any DG rifle, then get a barrel band front sight with the old faced partridge or 3/32 bead, up front..Its a first class set up..Ive used a half dozen of them..Even used Jims sight on a double rifle using the solid rib as a base. Its the perfect iron sight for any DG rifle and even good for shooting the heads of birds..
