I have a CZ 458 Lott that was a gift. It was customized quite nicely before I got it, and it shoots great. My question is, no where on the rifle is the manufacturer name, or the model number. The serial number is on the receiver, and the barrel is marked with the caliber, but nothing else. Am I going to run into problems with SAPS or Tanzanian Customs because of this, and will US Customs let me put the rifle on a 4457 with no make or model info on it?? Just wondering.

I presume you removed the stock and looked underneath.

If make and model designations have truly been obliterate, you're probably going to have to have it restamped before registering it with Customs.

I dont believe you will have any issues with the rifle as long as the SN and caliber is visible. Last year I took a custom 7x57 into africa that had no caliber markings on the barrel. I typed out "7x57" on white paper and taped it to the barrel and they never gave me any problems.

We're going to be "gifted" with a health care plan we are forced to purchase and fined if we don't, Which purportedly covers at least ten million more people, without adding a single new doctor, but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents, written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that didn't read it but exempted themselves from it, and signed by a President, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, for which we'll be taxed for four years before any benefits take effect, by a government which has already bankrupted Social Security and Medicare, all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that's broke!!!!! Two years ago I took my 9.3x62 to RSA. It's only markings are the SN on the front receiver ring and 9.3x62 on the barrel. I listed it as a "Mauser" on the forms and nobody looked twice.
