Well guys, never seen a nice Sako before, only seen a couple at shows and never got a good look at them. stopped at the shop today to get some ammo for my brother's birthday and they had a pretty rifle on the shelf with a blondish looking stock. i asked to see it. Turned out to be a Sako AV ? in 375 H&H. Gorgeous gun. skip line checkering, silver inlay in the floorplate and triggerguard, the grip cap even had a bear head outlined in the wood (like a flush inlay shaped like a bearhead). Had nice rings on it, barrel was magnaported. I asked out of curiousity and they said they were asking 900 for it. It was used but in excellent condition. I asked my stepfather over dinner and he said that is a good price for a nice Sako. I don't know about that, but I do know it was pretty so thought I would share my happy day with y'all. Red

Dago Red, that's a sako Deluxe. $900 is a good price, even with the Magnaporting (reduces collector value). Depending on the condition, I have seen 375 Deluxes go for as much as $1,300+. For $900 you won't be sorry. [ 08-17-2003, 22:31: Message edited by: DOCTOR LOU ]

Thanks Doc, but I didn't plan on buying, out of my price range, especially right now. I have my eye on another piece but am not sure if it is worth what is being asked for it. The sako I am sure would make me very happy, even though I have never even shot one before. Red

Red, just picked up a third Sako Fiberclass in 375 today for $900 -must be the magic number for these rifles. Going to rebarrel or rechamber to 375 RUM. Lou
