bpbb, you could use 416 Rem cases or 375 H & H Rem cases if you want to stick with Rem. Also 8mm Rem Mag and 300 Wby, all of which Remington produce. Hornady should hopefully have some brass for sale soon, as they make loaded ammo in this caliber. - Dan

Hornady makes very good brass at a reasonable price. I have been using their basic brass for my 450 Ackley and pleased with thenm so far. I suspect that their 458 Lott brass should be the same stuff as their basic brass except with a headstamp and trimmed lenght. Good luck.

I am using Hornady brass after buying a few boxes of factory ammo. By the way the Hornady ammo did meet the advertised velocity of 2,300 fps out of my 22" barrel. Actually the average was something like 2,309fps. My rifle is a Win 70 classic stainless (originally .375) that was rebarreled with an octagon barrel by Montana Rifleman. I do have a couple hundred once fired 375 H&H cases but haven't tried to reform them yet. Jason Connerley

First of all find out your chamber lenght lott brass is 2.800 and the factory brass I have measured is 2.750 or so, if you do as suggested above and shoot 2.850" 416 resized in your 2.800 chamber you might not like the results. Best thing to do is to have your smith lenghten your chamber to be safe. mine is 2.850 + .050 with enough free bore to shoot the long 500 gr X bullets. don't take my word for it but other smiths on this board also recommend the same thing. I believe John Ricks has a reamer specially made to do this. I have only resized a couple hundred 375 and 416 cases to the lott/watts and I would go with the deal at HUNTINGTONS. If I had to do it again or go with the basic. Good Luck RNS
