Brass update I spoke with Pete on 5/19/04, on the 550 express brass. I didn't get a definate date, and he wants a total minimum order of 300, at roughly $4 a case. With that, there is no direct tooling/setup costs, and the express brass will be the proper length and size... ready to reload. At that price, I am in for 50 pieces. Anyone else? It doesn't appear that Bell can make the brass for us. On the Bauska barrels, the button was ordered last week, and should be in their hands in 5 to 6 weeks, call it the End of June. Jeffe

Jeffe. I will take 50 pieces as well for the express. How will it be stamped? BTW, my e-mail to hawk came back and that is why they did not have my order. I am going to try and get to them again today. Frank

500grains Quality Cartridge buys basic brass from all major producers. Hornerber, Hornady, Bell, Jamison. The next step is headstamping and resizing. That is one of the main reasons I picked Quality as long as a supplier is making 460 Weatherby cylindrical it can be headstamped for the 550 projects. If I went with say horneber and he would not make the brass for a year it would be a long wait. The only down fall is the price of the brass is determined by what the basic cost and hopefully we can get the cost down by having bell and others make the brass.

Frank, 50 for you, 50 for me, we are at 100. Pete said 79.95/20 pieces 550 express. Who else wants some of these? We'll need 300 to place the order. BTW, I should be doing preliminary feeding work on the vz this week/weekend, as I'll have the mag I want to use and I'll make a dummy barrel (surplus large ring, bored out a bit) jeffe Jeffe
