Gene,

I'm sort of new to the forum, and I'm curious why you specified a non-CZ action. What are the drawbacks of the CZ action? Weight? Looks? Reliability?

Thanks,

Steve

Remember the informal rule, if you are building you must post pics! :-) Especially of the 09 and 1917 actions, my two favorites (reverse the order though).

Gmax- I have not gotten the pic for you yet, it takes about 20mb worth of the cd when I finalize it to take them off the disc so I have not done it yet. I have not forgotten though!

GMaxon,
My 404 Jeffrey project is being put together by John Ricks. The action is a Montana Rifle Co. long action.
The barrel is a Lothar-Walther Heavy Magnum Sporter contour in .423 caliber.

I am looking forward to having a magazine companion to my 450/400 3 inch.

I have a Huskavarna in 350 rem mag. The action is very smooth and nice. I'm thinking that this would be a better place to start than a VZ24 that you would have to polish and worry about pits. I have no actual experience on this though. it is a clean comercial Muaser type action though.

Ok, I remembered to do this. snapped some quick pics for you. it is hard to show in the picture, but the finish on this safety is great, you could send it straight out to be blued. I put it on here to help clear the scope bell. The two position flag type that was on there gave barely enough room.
