For an 800gr bullet in a .510/460 Long, what is the correct powder and charge? I don't need to set any velocity records, just a safe load that can handle the long bullet.
Thanks.

BMG. Whats the usable watervolume of the case? A uwv of about 125gr points to a powder in the N150-N160 range with starting loads at 99gr or 105gr respectively. I cant recommend it though... . Handling long bullets is more about twist than speed although some speed undoubtedly is needed. AKI

BMG,
I have only gone up to 750 grainers with 115 grains of IMR 4350. I use 110 grains as a fireforming load with 647 to 750 grainers. I am not much help. Maybe someone with QuickLoad will analyze this. It would be interesting.
