I got this rifle a while back and really like it. I have plenty of glass options for it but I've seen Ivan Carter on his shows with a RMR on his double and am thinking hard about having one on this Ruger. I like the Insight RMR and have two but battery life is about 3 months when left on auto, dot size is 3.25 and a slightly fractured. This gets a little aggravating at a hundred shooting groups. I believe Trijicon offers their chevron instead of a dot?, in these sights. Never picked one up so not sure. Does anyone make a mount that would fit the Ruger Alaskan or is it gunsmith only. If its gunsmith only it will have to less expensive than having a claw mount made for a Saur Drilling a few years ago. My dad sent the thing back to the factory for that little bit if custom work and then sent me the bill, ( Hey-suse ) is all I could say about that deal. Any thoughts?

I have never seen the RMR with a Chevron, all I have seen are the dots. I have one of the mounts for the Ruger for a red dot, Think it came from NECG if I remember right. And on it, I have a Burris FastfireII. It works pretty well and has an on/off switch.

I have been using a Fastfire III RMR for past to DG hunts with much success and I like it a lot. They do sell a mount that fits Rugers. It should fit yours. I do not know enough about RMRs to know if that base will fit other RMRs but I am sure someone here knows or you can contact the company. That said, going forward I will have an RMR set up for all my rifles when possible. .

I remember seeing a ruger to weaver base that was made by Burris (I think). Might try Midway/Brownells etc. Should be a great setup, good luck! Bellow I have attached the model number and hopefully the link to the only suitable mount I could find. I went through the same problem and Trigicon does not make a mount specifically for the RMR to M&& or No1. I tried the weaver two piece mount from Burris with limited results and. Trigicon makes: RM37: RMR Adapter Plate for Docter Mounts So I think you will need both the mount and RM37 adaptor (Doctor and Fastfire bases are said to be the same). That is how I am doing it anyways, the RM37 has been on back order for a while. I just received the Burris mount, still waiting for the RM37. Hope this helps. I have used the Docter sight on Ruger 77s using the Burris Ruger mount. I have to put it on the front ring as the sight interferes with the bolt handle in the rear ring. Too bad, as the rifles balance is over the front ring and prevents one hand carry. Quick, Cheap, or Good: Pick Two
