HI,

Since all the talk of lvers and DG and the fact that I have a 50-110 and have look into this some. I thought I ask about this round, which was brought to my attention on this forum. It must be me every time I just say no more rifles, I see something I might want.Anyway I check out the Z-hat custom site and this is some round. They stae that is will shot a 285 Speer GS at 2,510 fps and a Hornady300 RN at 2,397 fps, darn close to a H+H standard load not hot.I have heard nothing about these rounds, does anyone here have one?, shot one or used one on game?
Now this is a fireformed round from a 30-06, it has about 9% more powder capasity,I think this sounds like a good round, recoil is fine and hits hard,Kev
The 375 Hawk delivers the same ballistics that made the 375 H&H famous in the early 1900's. In Phil Sharpe's "The Rifle in America" 1938, Mr. Sharpe quotes ballistics for the factory loaded 375 H&H as follows, "The 235 grain is loaded at a muzzle velocity of 2775 f.s., the 270 at 2750 f.s., and the 300 at 2475 f.s." You will note that the 375 Hawk/Scovill easily approaches these numbers. The important difference is, the Hawk does it with less powder, no belt, less recoil, and in a 30-06 length action!
300 Hornady H-4895 56.0 g. 2385 fps AAC-2015 53.5 gr. 2380 fps
AAC-2495 55.0 gr. 2358 fps RL-15 56.0 gr. 2397 very good
IMR-4320 55.0 gr. 2346 fps

HI,

The data is what I copied off there site and put it here, also with the statement regarding the 375H+H,this is what is stated on there site. I just want to see other opinions on this and if anyone here has used or reloaded for them?,like I said I just saw this myself and it looks good to me, but I always like to know more about something before I ever make up my mind,Thanks,Kev

285 Speer GS H-4895 55.0 2413, AAC-2495 55.0 2401,
H-4895 56.5 2490, RL-15 55.0 2344,
"H-4895 57.0 2510" RL-15 56.0 2384
AAC-2015 53.5 2447 RL-15 57.0 2484
RL.12 55.0 2433 maximum IMR-4320 56.3 2457
This is for the 285speer GS, 2,510 fps that pertty darn good. It does look like the 9.3X62, but they use a 30-06,I guess improved, gives 9% more, they say,Kev
