CZ 416 Rigby vs 458
My shop could only locate these two. I bought the 416 Rigby in the CZ 550 American. Did I do ok?

For Ammo I order Nosler 400 grain Partition at 2530.

I have one, and you are going to love the 416. Enough gun for the world we inhabit.
Enjoy!

.366torgue and Idaho Sharpshooter, Thanks for the responces.

Are the CZ open sights already set at the factory?

The open sights should be set from factory but you have to shoot a couple of rounds just to check. Test it on close range, 50 yards or so.

I have a number of big calibre rifles and the CZ 416 is one of my favourite. I stopped a charging elephant at 15yards earlier this year...thank you Mr. Rigby.

If the open sites don't hit where you want them, you can get a set of front sites with different heights to adjust elevation. Make sure when changing the front site, that it's really secure otherwise, kiss it bye bye.

I picked up my 416 Rigby today. Its a Safari Classic with American stock. The trigger is pretty light for this big a rifle. Nice wood and metal fit. I like the sights and the gun fits well. I am now waiting on some custom Nosler ammo I ordered.

The rifle has no cross bolts in the stock. I ordered two from Brownell`s. Also sent an e-mail to CZ on the cross bolt issue.

You can do the crossbolts yourself. You need a 10mm Forstner bit, practice on a scrap piece of wood, they are really pretty easy to do.

I received a responce from CZ they will install the cross bolts for 100 dollars each. I can`t put my responce in writting.

That is the main place the CZ's are lacking. They have an Americanized customer service department. You can buy everything you need to do the installation of the crossbolts from Brownells or Midway.

You can borrow money, but you can't borrow time. Don't wait, go now.

Call them back
Ask them what their COST on replacing a stock is
and what they'll charge you for bedding and dual xbolts.

I'll install 2 crossbolts, with ebony caps, for $100 and shipping. That's total, not each
