KennethICZ .458 Lott and Muzzlebrake
Today I put 10 shots through my new CZ 550 American Safari Magnum. Recoil was heavy, but very enjoyable. I have seen many posts recommending getting the rifle bedded. Instead of getting it bedded, would adding a muzzlebrake relieve enough stress on the stock to avoid cracking?
Thanks

PCJust add a couple of extra cross bolts and have it bedded......muzzle breaks are a demon, I have one on my .585 Nyati and I will not build another rifle with a break due to noise, I would rather recoil.
My cz lott is set up with cross bolts before and aft the mag box it still has the orginal factory through bolt as well.

jjsI second what PC advised...even if you put a muzzle brake on it I would still bed and cross bolt...in fact I would not take another shot with it until that was done! Mine does not have a muzzle brake...
