Will probably letting it go in the $1400 range depending on what the feed work costs. Of course there is always the cz in 416 rigby.

Hind Sight being 20-20, I wish I'd bought several M70 416s at dealer cost when I had the chance prior to the plant closing notifications. I grabbed one which I'll keep, just wish I'd grabbed two or three as they were cheap at that time!

I just bought one off GunsAmerica for a steal at $ 975. A left hand Remington custom shop 12 years sitting in a gun safe. I responded first, but he had two more offers within the first day. He who hesitate is S-O-L.

I'm using Mauser M 03. Very nice rifle, pricey but never let me down in Africa or Russian Far East

Shop around and find a M-70 Win. classic or a used custom Mauser...

I build all mine on a 98 Mauser or pre 64 M-70 action..

I just picked up a copy of CZ's '08 catalog a couple of weeks ago and according to that, the .416 Remington Mag. has been added to the Safari Classics line along with the .338 Lapua and .338 Win. Mag.

Find a M70 in 416 Rem Mag. thumb

If my recolection of the dim historic past is correct, I paid $875 in 2000 for mine and it is the most accurate rifle I own.

When I do my job, the target has one slightly enlarged hole at 100 yds.

The only modification was to stiffen the magazine spring.
