I found an advertisement for a drilling in 12 gauge over a rifle cartridge called the 10,75 X 65 R Grundig. (See my post under combination guns and drillings) Anybody know anything about this cartridge?

According the the book "european sporting cartridges" by WB Dixon, it was a cartridge that was made between c1908-1921 and shouldn`t be confused with the 10.75x65 Collath which have a thinner case.
The German Grundig made a varaity of 10.75mm cartridges x45, x52, x60 and your x65.
The base diameter is 12.48mm for all of them, neckdiameter is 11.48mm and the rim is 13.70mm.
Bullet diameter is listed as 10.80mm.
The bulletweight is not listed, but from looking at the pictures/drawings the bulleteright must be anywhere between 320-380 grains.
The 10.75 Grundig was still listed RWS in 1928 and in the gecardo catalog(1931)
H. UTENDOERFFER NURNBERG also listed the cartridge.
WB Dixon describes all of the Grundig cartridges as very rare.
Hope this could help Cool

Thanks Jens. Can I assume your Dixon doesn't provide any data on ballistics for this cartridge? I would also assume that it is no powerhouse but then again it may have been developed (as stated by another forum member) for hunting in a particular Swiss canton that had strict caliber controls.

I now read that there is also a 10,75 X 65 R Collath. Anybody know if it's the same as the Grundig?

Wink,

There is a German member on the Nitro Express forums who has the sign in name pwm who is an expert on the Teschner-Collath guns. I don't know whether he is a member here as I have never seen him post on AR. He is a very nice man to communicate with and you could contact him if you want any information on Collath guns or obscure German gun or cartridge designs.

Cheers!

Mehul, do you have an e-mail or other contact for the person who may know something about this cartridge?

Wink,

I have exchanged PMs with him on more than one occasion as far as Collath guns are concerned and he has been very helpful. Sorry, I don't have an e-mail address.
