For Hunting I see no reason to use less than a premium bullet..I like the Noslers, Northforks, Woodleighs in a .375 H&H...The difference in the cost of a bullet should never be a consideration..It just makes since.. I have found the Hornadys to be a little soft for my likeing...and that iliminates taking a raking shot on elk IMO... If you limit yourself to broadside shots the Hornadys will do fine..Unfortunately in Idaho you better take any shot your offered, else you very likely will go home empty..

I have found the 300 gr Hornady rouns nose .375 to be quite soft even on grassy's. I shot one taking a rear end shot from 80 or so yards.....bullet had to penetrate some spine and ruined the main hip joints etc. on the way through. Bullet was found under the hide of the chest....no exit on an animal that weighed perhaps 120-150 pounds. The recovered bullet weighed 146 grains....50% weight rention. I also dhot a couple of large boars with the 300 gr RN Hornady both broad side shoulder shots and they worked well there. To soft for really big stuff I would think.
