Hello, I picked up this rifle yesterday. I have searched several forums, and of course tried Google. There is a lot of information to wade through on the Model 2165, Parker-Ballard and Voere. The information on these rifles in .375 H&H seems to be non-existent. I couldn't find pictures of any in this caliber. Nor could I find any in this caliber that had sold at any of the popular selling or auction sites. If you have any information, or are a better Google user with links, I could really use some links! Thank you!

Are they the Post WW2 FN actions? "When the wind stops....start rowing. When the wind starts, get the sail up quick."

I haven't pulled the action from the stock, but it is a commercial action. No thumb cut or stripper clip guide.

Pulled the action from the stock last night. Pretty sure it has not been apart in many years. A nice line of dried oil down the entire line of the inletting. Found no marks to clue in on the maker. A few numbers behind the lug. Only detail I hadn't noticed earlier is a 'notch' in the front ring to allow loading long OAL rounds. I have a Mark X action with the same notch, but it is clearly marked. The bottom metal is aluminum (Mark X is steel) and the length is extended in a completely different manner than the Mark X. From what I read it COULD BE and FN, Zastava or Santa Barbara.

Have you tried e-mailing the serial number to the Voere factory in Austria. I have a 2165 in .300 Weatherby and it does not appear to ever have been a standard cartridge in their production rifle. I e-mailed Voere customer service the serial number and they responded that the rifle was a custom made in 1972 for a customer in Wilkes-Barre, PA.
