Mike McGuireThat is one good and wild looking rifle.
Has a Ryan Breeding rifle look about it.

BuglemintodayShould be able to ventilate a hog pretty easily

You got it back! I was looking at it on line and was seriously considering buying it. I was just going on line to ask the seller what happened to the recoil pad and couldn't find it. I missed it the last time it was for sale as I waited to long.

OK
I'll get a .500 Jeffery built on a CZ 550 Mag.
It will make me appreciate the .458 WIN
even more, if that is possible.
I have 20 pieces of Norma brass,
and I can think of no better reason
to have a .500 Jeffery built.
There is no "good" reason for a .500 Jeffery,
especially a 6-pound one with no recoil pad.

The owner really must want to feel what a .500 is like.

SAFARIKIDYes Mark!
Recoil isnt that bad,not for me?
I never ever feel it when hunting buff n bear ..
Matter of fact my Brown Bear with this rifle took off running so I was cranking rounds like Chuck Conners!
I did have a few hard kickers that I dont want back like a 6pd 378 and a 11pd 600NE Double that must have had a bad stock design as it punched(1920s Charles Osborne)

BiebsDamn! A couple months ago I had 2 cases of Kynoch 500 Jeffery ammunition. I could have soaked you good for it! :-)

A 6 pound 378 would move to the area where the rifle launches a personal attack on the shooter

ColoradoyalerTom,
I'm glad its back home! I watched Mike's youtube video again last night and chuckled the way he hung his arm and shoulder after the shot! Been there and done that with my 9 pound 460wby with no muzzle break I built back in 1986. I evently sent it off to KDF for a brake.

SAFARIKIDHaha..Thanks Mark!
What I really would like to find is my 8pd .600!
Then I can give this one a new home! Lol
Let's compare for shitz n giggles..
570 gr @ 21-2200 =6125 ME
Vs.
900 gr @ 21-2200 =9672 ME
I am even shocked at the difference!

badboymelvinI was watching this rifle when it was for sale and saw a few comments in regard to it's recoil...
I for one cant even fathom what the recoil must be like in this rifle! I can't get my head around it...
My absolute limit is a .458Win with a 480-500gn pill at 2150fps.
This monster has probably double that!
Like I said, I cant even imagine what that must feel like...
Cheers,
Russ
You'll probably never NEED a gun. In fact I hope you never do. BUT IF you do, you will probably need it worse than anything you've ever needed before in your life...

NormanConquestYou'd damned sure better be standing + leaning into it. Truly though, recoil be damned, wouldn't it be nice to fire, even once?
Never mistake motion for action.

NormanConquestAnd this is from one who had detached retina surgery. Some of us never grow up.
Never mistake motion for action.
Grizzinator on a WIN M70 with 16" barrel weighs 6.5 pounds iron-sighted, unloaded.
She weighs 7.5 pounds scoped, unloaded.
I figure a 10-pound, scoped, unloaded, CZ 550 Magnum will be more enjoyable to shoot, if not as exuberantly joyful to carry.
Here is the reamer that will allow a COL of 3.75" instead of 3.5",
Dave Kiff called it the .500 Jeffery Match without even asking me for input.
I would have preferred .500 Jeffery LongClaw:
I ordered that back in 2017 before I was totally sure of the greatness of the .458 WIN.MAG. throat.
I could still re-throat it.
Here is the tight-throated CIP .500 Jeffery for comparison:

jeffeossothe load is simple --
1.25" of 1/2" lead bar
grind up a kingsford brickette
LOL....
I don't recall my 500 jeffe loads, but I had been using a good deal of wc846/blc2
as for a short barreled 378 ... that would be a flame thrower!

Michael RobinsonI love it. But I’m pretty sure I’d want to put a Decelerator on it.
