Guys, I think I have posted this before, but here it is again. That is my back yard, there were a large group of these guns floating around. This is the first 458 I have seen though. I am in homework mode on this one and I'll see if I can't get some inside scoop on this. Take me an hour or so, and I should have something.

True-True but a bunch of these showed up recently in shows in our area ( same gun show area). I don't remember the particulars but a large amount of these showed up all at once and I don't think it was out of the current shop. A lot of these are the fathers guns, and that is not current production stuff. and his guns floating around our area is not common, ones or twoes yes but his rifles are high dollar in our neck of the woods and most go elsewhere. No it was something like a single big sale and trickle down from there. I am fuzzy. quess I wasn't paying enough attention when this was discussed, I must not have been interested @ the moment, lately I am focused on two customs and new aquitions are not in my radar. I will get some details, I should know something in a hour or two.

This rifle doesn't look to be part of the collection I was talking about. Guess the whole collection was sold, long story but the entire group went in one sale, and there not available any more. The reason this didn't register in my brain as there were no great deals on the batch of them, cheapest was right @3K. I would want to know if is was one of the "DAD's" guns. Did anyone notice who engraved this? I think its one of his, I would want to know for sure.

That's an Al Biesen rifle. If you have ever seen one you know the differance between his and Roger's work.

Mickey, I don't remember seeing their's in person, so don't much about them other than they are supposed to be first rate and I think their stocks look great. Would you mind enlightening me on the differences between father and son in style? I think I'll follow this and see what it goes for, just out of interest. Red

Rogers work when its engraved I can usually spot his sisters engraving work. She does good work its just I can usually tell her style. I am no expert on these rifles, the ones I have seen that were AL Biesens, were pretty easy to spot. Quality on the AL Biesen rifles I have seen are top notch, he did several rifles for Jack O'Conner back in the day and if I am not mistaken his favorite 270 was a Biesen. Last I checked AL is still alive and if you call the shop you might just get "POP", but Roger or Sharron handle almost all of this now.
