Just got my Safari Express .458 back from the Smith's. Barrel is now 21" and mag is opened up. Factory throat is good for 3.60 O.A.L. I'm thinking the 450 TSX will give me the length I need with the short case and still be able to crimp into one of the grooves. What are you guys shooting with this bullet in your Lotts?

Tried using this bullet in one of my Lotts and had a good deal of difficulty with it. Seemed the expander would not go deep enough in the case to allow the bullet to seat without buckling the case a small amount causing chambering issues. It's a really long bullet. Never did chrono any of the loads.

Thanks for the reply. As I said should be no problem with 458 brass as very little will be in the case. With the 500 DGX Hor. I've got about .3" of bullet in the case. Hopeing the 450 TSX will give me some more seating depth, and a groove for crimping.
