I use all my big bores stateside in order to stay sharp for Africa, which is of primary interest, these days. I find myself using the .375 most often and have come to a point where I don't feel at all handicapped, out to 250 yards or so. If hunting mountain muledeer or antelope, however, I confess to feeling a bit more comfortable using something in the .270 to 7Mag catagory.

Mike I have seen it before, went and had another look still seems brass is hard to get, only from the developers. I think I read a while back that Bell was making the brass, I've spoken with 500Nitro-he imports Bell brass into Aust and he told me Bell do not make 505Gibbs unless by custom order. AJ1 You must have very fragile roos over there . Seriously I found if hit in the shouder/arm bone the bullet didn't always penetrate to the chest on large roos which were the ones I went for. Also I'm surprised you have not seen a heart shot roo run 200-300yds because I certainly have on numerous occasions, call it the death run, and this at the time was a problem because they disapeared into the bull tussocks(5-6 foot tall) so finding them to take the legs was difficult. Have you tried roo in a curry it is very good nb. use a young one. I had a friend come spotlighting and daytime shooting using a 220swift I tried to tell him a 22 cal isn't enough to put them down every time on the spot he would not beleive me - he does now. If you have the luxury/time of correct bullet placement then the 22cal would be enough, after all the Kiwis have killed thousands of red deer with 222rem. I have many years ago shot them with 22lr in the kidneys it quite often drops them on the spot. Have shot them on the run with semi auto 22mag as well, that would sometimes drop them with one shot. Have not tried to use 416 300plus but yes a bit of drop, was the reason to try and get 3000fps to give the same drop as 270win. Speaking of which used to sight in the 270 4" high at 100yds to give close to spot on at 300
