TRY THIS! http://www.hdrifle.com/ See 'Rem700 Bolt Mod' For the measly sum of $55.00, you can assuage your fears and potential fits of hysterical laughter by the Mauser Crowd... Not that I have had or would ever expect this problem to occur, nor have I ever actually seen a separation of the bolt/handle, but, this could give piece of mind to some Remington 700 owners. No machine is perfect. Any Human effort at getting it there is encouraged. [ 09-04-2003, 15:29: Message edited by: BusMaster007 ]

Mauser fans will still laugh at the wimpy extractor, pin ejector, and auxiliary fire control, ie not so safe safety. For the price of fixing all those problems, you might as well buy a real rifle

I have had the experience of pulling one off before, but it was merely re-silver soldered back -- and is still there. I would be more worried about the Walker trigger. My opinion on "tactical rifles" (whatever that means) is they are a means for their makers to separate government agencies from other peoples money. I buy 30 long guns a year for our Chapter SCI fund-raiser, and I don't buy any Remington rifles. jim dodd
