Jcchartboy.375 H&H in a .416 Rigby length action..
Hi,
I would like to know what others smaller calibers can be built on a .416 Rigby length action, besides the .404 Jeffery, 416 Rigby, 416 Dakota, 450 Rigby etc. For example, would a .375 H&H function properly from such an action? Additionally, if that is case, what alterations would need to be made
Regards,
JC

CMcDermottRigby case head is much larger than the 375 H&H, so a new bolt would be needed for any of the belted magnums. Other cartridges that would work without much if any changes would be the big Weatherby (30-378, 378, 416 & 460) and the Lazzeroni Arms proprietary cartridges.

Stryker60I believe that the CZ .375 is built on the same length action as the .416.

Thanks CMc,
That is great info.

I have seen Dakota African actions used for 375s and 416 Rems. I believe it provides one more round than the normally used Safari action.

jeffeossolength? bolt isn't modified?
then cz and ruger both use the same length action, for both ... in an ideal world, the longer action would batter the nose of the 375
