Kinda shoping around for a 416. How are the CZ's anyone here have on? Looks like a BRNO action to me, but have only seen pictures of them on the net. Don't know where to find one in MT. Are they good? X http://www.youtube.com/watch?v.../watch?v=qVQc386js7g www.setfreesoldiers.com www.soldiermade.com Montana Maddness Set Free Ministries MT. 7 days with out meat makes one Weak!

They are the same as the BRNO. they are a little rough but everything is there and with not too much work can be made into superb rifles. they also tend to shoot great. Anyone who claims the 30-06 is ineffective has either not tried one, or is unwittingly commenting on their own marksmanship Phil Shoemaker Alaska Master guide FAA Master pilot NRA Benefactor www.grizzlyskinsofalaska.com

I bought a CZ .416 Rigby on the Classifieds forum here in 2003. Had already been bedded, the forearm stiffened, internal cross bolts added, the trigger done, and a pin down the wrist. Well executed smithing. The rifle is accurate ... on a day I can shoot, it will hold 1 1/4" at 200 yards with 350 gr Barnes Xs at 2700 fps (which is my hunting load). Rifle has gone to Africa twice. Has killed Gemsbock, Hartebeast, Cape Buffalo, American Bison and feral pigs. Caliber? Could not ask for better performance on game. Has never shown the least bit of pressure sign even in the hottest weather. I think CZs are a great place to start. They should be bedded and cross bolted (if they did not come that way). If that's done they'll shoot as well as any at a very competitive price. Bought a 9,3x62 CZ American at about the same time. It has been to Africa as well and performed admirably. I adore Mausers ... but CZs are very good practical rifles at a decent price. Mike -------------- DRSS, Womper's Club, NRA Life Member/Charter Member NRA Golden Eagles ... Bitterroot, i was wondering that myself. Thats what John was shooting saturday...a 300wsm necked up to 416 " If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand which feeds you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countryman " Samuel Adams, 1772

MM, i think the CZ is a very good rifle for the buck. If you want one i'd say go for it.... Montana, The 416 Rigby is a great round. Highly recommended. If you can, check out the Ruger RSM in 416 Rigby. It's a fantastic value for the money. Good hunting. Best, Brad

Thanks for the input guys. BTW I'm in Fort Benton. Spend most my time in Great Falls. If not out enjoying our wonderful state on my H-D or at work. You will find me somewhere shooting something. Well, I can vouch for American Hunting Rifles (AHR) which is almost in your backyard (Corvallis, MT). Aside from building custom big boomers, they specialize in accurizing CZ rifles. You could not find a nicer and more professional bunch than those at AHR. Bitterroot posts here and I wold contact him directly or Ed Plummer.
