I know this might sound like a stupid question guys but I just want to know because its really bugging me. And I apologize for all the questions. I have an Encore with a barrel chambered for 416 Rigby what would really have to be done for it to shoot 416 Weatherbys out of it? I am really obsessed with having a 416 Weatherby for some reason.

They hold the same amount of powder and can be loaded to the same velocities.

One has a belt and the other doesn't.

I would load it up and pretend its a WBY.

I'd load it up alright, but NOT pretend it's a Weatherby!

Personally, I loathe belted mags. Headspacing off of the belt isn't the problem, belt expansion with max loads is.

As was already stated, the .416 Rigby as loaded by the factory is inferior, as far as velocity is concerned, to the .416 Weatherby. The .416 Rigby doesn't quite have the case capacity as the Weatherby but, I think you will cry "Uncle" before you ever reach the Weatherby loads. It will flat kick the crap out of you in the Encore unless you've been lobotomized.
