congomikeBeautiful rifle, but maybe I am just getting too old..."Rigby floorplate, $500 option"?
I bought one of Wisners for my CZ550 for $72 shipped.....just need to do a little fitting and drill for front cross pin.....again, maybe I am missing something here, but why so much?
...I am not trying to get flamed here or start a fight, just curious as to why so much...

jeffeossotake the 72 bucks from jim, and remember that empire makes 4 to 7 K rifles, every day..
add 4 hours shop time for receiving, inventory, fitting (it HAS to be perfect on a 6k rifle, doesn't it?) polishing (it HAS to be perfect on a 6k rifle, doesn't it?), and funcitoning (it HAS to be perfect on a 6k rifle, doesn't it?), stock fitting as it's a different inlet and pattern (it HAS to be perfect on a 6k rifle, doesn't it?)
and then leave them a couple bucks to keep the lights on...
Jim's makes excellent products, sure enough, and a SUPER value for someone wanting to put the finish on it... and that works great for an individual, but a gunsmith has to charge for the changes and time differences... and, in this case, the floor plate function and fit are totally different... jim's doesn't require a change to the inletting.

tiggertateThat doesn't look like Jim's, anyway. Probably from GMA and a pass-through for Empire at a normal mark-up.
Worst case, Empire made it themselves on a one-at-a-time basis which would certainly cost more than Wisner's four at a time semi-production line.

No offense taken.
The floorplate is made by GMA. $500.00 is what it costs if you buy it on a rifle from Empire. I'm not sure what GMA charges for it in the white.
If you compare the starting costs of a CZ550 and a GMA action, I think you'll find that the costs of the floorplates in question are not that far out of proportion.

Mac, that handle's right where it's spose'd to be. There's plenty of other 375 H&H's out there with the handle on the wrong (right) side!
