I asked my gunsmith about the Hogue stocks for my big bore on the Ruger receiver. He said they will work fine. No special reinforcment or extra lugs needed. I plan on getting the one with the full bedding block, for extra strength. I have a friend who has one of the standard Hogue stocks on his Ruger 458, and he has shot it a lot for years with no trouble. I think he told me that he just opened the barrel channel a little and dropped the barreled action in - nothing more.
