PoppaW416 Rigby dgx ammo
I picked up two boxes of ammo for the 400gr dgx from Hornady. I was so happy to see the price tag of 89.99. I am used to paying 60.00 for 20 Norma brass, and the Federal ammo is 299.99 a box up here! So when I got home and pulled the shells out to look at them I was a little disappointed to see dents and dings in the shoulders of about 40% of the rounds. Is this normal from the new Hornady ammo? I have only seen 375 Ruger ammo before this and the first one of those I pulled out the neck was bent. Very noticable when rolled on a table. I was thinking maybe thats what I get for cheap ammo but its not cheap its still $90. I've bought tons of 20-30 buck ammo and never saw this before. I assume it will all just fireform except one that I think may not feed. Anybody else seen this?

x2mosgI've bought several boxes of 416 Rigby brass by Hornady in the last few months and it's all been great. Also bought a box each of softs and solids and they were all in good shape. All met advertised velocity out of my 23" RSM barrel and the softs gave me a 4-shot group of under 3/4" at 100 yds with a 4x scope. I've been very happy.

a those dings are gone once you shoot 'em.
Of course I do understand recieving new ammo that doesn't LOOK perfect. As Jeff said...it won't hurt a thing.

Bill CooleyPerhaps the pony express rider dropped them when he was doing a rapid horse change on the way up to the frigid north……
They should shoot okay as long as you can get them to chamber.
