Getting ready to put bases and rings on my 458 lott M/70. I will use doubble dove tail leupold bases . My question is how tall of rings do you recomend. The scope is a 1.5 X 5 leupold Thanks to all...Maddog

I use low Leupold QR rings with success on several rifles even though they have Buehler wing safeties rather than the lower model 70 safety.

Go with the lowest rings possible, Leupold has ring height recomendations on their website. I'd also recomend drilling out the bases and action to take #8 screws.
