375 BLASTER

My local sporting goods store had 2 boxes Hornady brass the last time I was there. If you send me a PM I can give you their phone number, they may be willing to ship you a box.

I have been reading and drooling over the 376 Steyr posts for about a year and, today, I ordered a 376 Pro Hunter from CDNN......since it's a crime to have a rifle without something to shoot in it, I am in need of some 376 brass..... guess I'm in good company! I'd appreciate any info on where I can find some!!! As a rule, I don't shoot factory loads......and I don't want to start now.....so if anyone would be willing to sell me some they have hoarded......please let me know via e-mail or PM.

One more thing......RCBS or Hornady dies?????

Thanks!

I've got some for sale...
About half a year back I had the idea of building 376 on the stainless Charles Daly actions, but they are not availabe yet (second time I checked anyway), and have put this one on hold.
Anyhoo... I have loading dies and 90+ pieces of brass for sale.
The load dies are Hornady New Demension Dies, with a shell holder (shell holders were sold seperate and quite hard to come as well.)
I don't remember my cost from MidwayUSA, nor do I see them in the catalog I have on hand.
The die set has a Dealer (Jerry's Sports Center)cost of $40. Brass is $17.00 per box/50.
I'll part with the bunch for $60.00 + S/H. ~~~Suluuq

Buzzgun, Even if you have to shoot the factory ammo you will love this gun. It is short, easy handling, and accurate as hell. You cant beat the price from cdnn right now either. It is $50.00 less than last year at this time. The only thing I would suggest is to pick up an extra magazine. If you loose it or it gets damaged somehow you are SOL.

Jeffe, We might have to seriously look at making the brass from something else. If you want to look into it maybe we can combine an order and get a price break. I would bet several of the other guys on this forum who shoot the 376 would be interested as well.

Thanks Mike

I ordered 2 extra magazines with the rifle (OUCH), I'd rather cough up the $$$$ now than to find out I can't get them later! Any recommendations on any other spare parts I should get while I can???

I just checked at the Sporting goods store, both boxes of .376 Steyr brass were sold. He checked with his supplier and they were out of stock.

One comment on the .376 Steyr Prohunter. I bought one last fall from a member of these forums, and I really like it. It shoots 1 1/2", or less, five-shot groups with the factory 225 grain ammo. I am going to work up a load for the 260 grain Nosler BT which should be a good whitetail and black bear thumper. The gun is not a featherweight, but it does handle nicely. This past deer season, I killed a whitetail in a cornfield at 264 yards. My longest kill shot to date.

Buzzgun, Ouch is right. I cringed at the price for the mags too. I also bought an extra pair of swivels. I know HunterJim bought some extra springs etc. I just figured I would have the stuff that gets easily lost. Most any gunsmith can make small parts if necesarry. The odds of needing anything else is really small.
Jeffe, sounds like you had a great time. I have got to get out. Cabin fever is setting in bigtime!

Mike

I also ordered an extra set of swivels. My rifle should be in this week and, hopefully, I'll get the dies and brass from Rusty in time to shoot it this weekend....

PS: I sent you a PM

Buzzgun, If you dont get your package from Suluuq in time your just going to have to bite the bullet to make a bad pun. Factory ammo is better than no ammo and I know you dont want to wait that long to shoot your new toy.
