Nice rifle, It will look great when it's done!- If you get a chance please take some more pictures of the magazine and if possible please provide the box measurements. It looks like it will hold 5. Who made the box and floorplate? This is the biggest problem in converting a CZ550 to a 505 Giggs or 500 Jeffery. The standard CZ box just won't hold more than 2 cartridges and feed properly.-Rob

LOP is 14.5". Might look short cause the rifle is so large. Weighs 11.5 as it sits in pic. As to the scope rings, those were on prior to firing, and it was discovered the eye relief was a little short for the 505--son got creased in between his eyes.

A very handsom rifle. Appears to be skilled metal work and artfully shaped wood too.

Who did the work? Was the magazine fabricated or machined? Was the quarter rib machined from blank material?

How accurate is it? What do you think of the recoil?

My son the gunsmith did the work. He machined the coffin box floorplate and the quater rib. He did the stock from a blank, as he did the 416 taylor I have posted here--did all the work on it too. The 3 leaf sights were purchased as was the banded front sight. I think he is going to go with an aperature sight also. Recoil is pretty hirsute!! One load chrono-ed over 2550. Hunting loads appx like factory, in the 2300-2350 rangs.
Thanks for the interest.

Due to an unsavory character's comments on the 416 Talyor post, accusing me of playing games and intimating some kind of fraud, I will not be returning to this or any other forum. I'm incensed to say the least. Best wishes to all other habitues; its too bad there is always someone that craps in the nest.

The rifle seems to be very cool but the bottom metal is one ugly duckling. I would put up with 2 rounds in the box than with that odd looking bottom metal. Sorry this is just one man’s opinion. Thanks for sharing the pictures. Good luck.
