Hi I know Heym makes both the 500 NE and the 600 NE in their bolt action rifle. Has anyone made a 700 NE in a bolt rifle?

Duane, Duane...

And we had such hopes for you. "...smelliest cigar..." Indeed!

Too any damp days in the left coast rain forest much have rusted the mental machinery.

I just got one made in Savage 210 with a Pacnor
Barrel. The extra 210 I had a 12ga FH barrel on,
and then had my 700HE in. Guy out west wanted Savage
in the 700NE. So he may be the first besides me
to have a Savage set up that way.
Test fired with some cases he sent me ok.
Got to get in a stock. and some finishing.Ed

Oh, yeah ... where is that video of Peter Hambrusch firing his 700 NE bolt action and double? Have seen that linked here before ... and one of Saeed's Champions fires that 700 NE bolt action like it was nuthin'. No chest hair exposed and no smelly cigar required. Big Grin

That Ferlach falling block in 700 NE would be perfect for conversion to 12GaFH. If only I had the spare change for that! hilbily
Might as well get the 700 NE "Saurian" double rifle rebored and rechambered to 12GaFH too. Should clean up nicely!
Re-regulation might be required, maybe not, if the 12GaFH is loaded down to 700 NE ballistics, same bullet weight and proper powder and filler to give same recoil and velocity.

The most insane thing I have ever seen is the .600 Nitro Express revolver by Pfeifer-Waffen. From what I have been able to find out they do exist and are available on a custom order basis. Please correct me if it is a hoax.

They run right at 20,000 in American dollars and are hard to get imported into the U.S. because of over 50 cal handgun. There is also a 600 nitro single shot that was made about 3 years ago. it weighs 5 lbs and 8 oz. the 600 nitro revolver weighs a little over 13 lbs!

The single shot is on an encore frame with a 15" barrel made by Van Horn. You can see it flying over the head of a range instructor on You tube by searching for "600 nitro pistol" If shot properly you can hold onto it. You just have to know what you are doing.

The 700 AHR bolt rifle will out do a 700 nitro. I have no problem getting 2300 ft/sec with a 1000 grain bullet out of the .685 diameter cartridge. Wayne makes some very nice looking 700 AHR bolt rifles. Peters 700 nitro rifle is a real beast and has a 60,000.00 price tag on it.

If Wayne builds it you know it will:

1. be the best quality
2. function flawlessly

For lesser pocketbooks you can do one a
Savage 210 for 2 grand dies cases and all.
I fire one with 825gr slug at 2500 plus.
In 5 cases the guy sent me to test with.
Cases are expensive compared to doing same in
12GA FH, but some see a mystique in 700NE,
like the guy getting this one.Ed
