$2614.99 for a NIB 500 Jeffery CZ 550 Safari Classic, only one sits on the rack at

www.whittakerguns.com

(World's biggest and best gun shop. If they don't have it, just wait a while,
or if your pinky finger is just too itchy to bear, just plumb extended,
go down the road to a smaller Kentucky emporium, www.drake.net .)

I was not tempted by that 500 Jeffery.

There also: $1559.99 for a NIB .375 H&H CZ 550 "American Special" left hand rifle.
Wood is nice too.

Both of the above have double crossbolts.

A used leftie .375 H&H CZ has already come and gone there too, sold over the internet.

They have several CZ 527 south paw rifles in 223 Rem. and 204 Rug. too, $639.99.

I am wondering why the feed ramp of that 500 Jeffery looked like it had a dull matte black finish to match the exterior of the rifle. There were also a couple of dings on the outer edge of the ejection port metal, right at midship, causing a small gap between metal and wood.

Looked like the smith in Kansas City got exasperated during the feed job and just whacked the rifle with a hammer:

"There! That'll do! Send that 500 Jeffery to the bluing tank now boys! And be sure to bead blast the feed ramp and rails to smooth them up a bit, and blue it all!"

Apparently CZ has abandoned trying to supply ammo to go with their Safari Classics, after the initial disaster with A-Square.

"Jamison or Horneber, boys! Get yer brass and load yer own!"

Chuck, but your spending less money on yours, you know who is doing the work because you have talked to them, and you already know what you had to compare with for quality. Sounds like you have the better deal. Shouldn't they be getting close?

Yes Rodney, they finally got the barrels in about a week ago, and they've started on it. I called Friday to make sure they will put the extra recoil lug on the barrel just like AHR did. Mine has the AHR #1 upgrade kit (straighten and fill bolt, 3 pos M70 type safety, and AHR single stage trigger) as well as a nice NECG rear sight. Also AHR bedded my rifle. Mine should come in after everything about $500 cheaper than the one you saw.

Soon hopefully soon.

Chuck
