All:

I have been speaking with people from the Quantico Shooting Club located on the Quantico Marine Corps Base in, you guessed it, Quantico, Virginia, about 40 minutes south of Washington, DC.

So far I have received preliminary approval to host a double rifle shoot at their facility and am looking to see what kind of interest would be out there. I still have some details to work out, so nothing is 100% "for sure" yet, but it looks REALLY good.

Here is what I am thinking:

Host a shoot on a Saturday afternoon from noon to 3:00 or 4:00 sometime in October 2005.

Quantico said they have a 100 yard range that we could use.

We would each have to pay a $5.00 fee for the day of shooting.

I would respectfully ask that whoever comes brings some extra ammo for their rifles so some of the members could try out shooting a double rifle. (At your discretion, of course.)

Only people who have a double rifle would be allowed to come on to the property for this shoot. I wish I could invite any AR member, but they wouldn't host the shoot if that were the case.

So, if you are interested about this and think you might want to meet some fellow double rifle shooters, respond to this email, PM me, or drop me an email at travelingfoolfromva@yahoo.com

If there is enough interest, I'll go forward with this. It should be a great time!

Regards,

Paul

Sounds like fun, I'd love to attend. Do they have 50 yd. targets for the older guys so we could hit something.

JPK"

the dates are flexible. We can see if we can do it in September also.

When I speak with the guys at Quantico again, I'll narrow the dates down.
