Well most of the decisions have been made now regarding the Gun Smith, Stock maker, Action, and Barrel for my 458 Lott. I need Some ideas on open sights. I will probably have a Peep but not sure yet. Multiple Leaves on a set of express opens with a Bullet proof front sight that can handle getting dragged through the bush. Any place on the web with Photo's to help with this? Thanks, jj

JJHACK, The New England Custom Gun makes excellent sights and I have them on my 458 Lott plus two other rifles. http://www.newenglandcustomgun.com/htmlpages/aboutNECG.html If you are going to scope the rifle with QD rings Brockman's has a very good looking set of Talley QD bases with a pop-up peep that Ray Atkinson speaks very highly of. http://www.brockmansrifles.com/ Good hunting,

JJ, For your purposes, I'd go with one standing in a rear island and a large bead front..No adjustments ""to get monkied with"" tough and always sighted in..You will be shooting within your bubble at point and shoot range for the most part, and possibly at a fleeing animal..You can hit an apple at 100 yds offhand with thoes sights and thats good enough, for Government work... ------------------

I've had good luck with the 3 leaf express sights on my Pre-64 M70 375H&H. It'll shoot clover leafs at 100yds. Probably better if I had someone else's eyes to see through.
