Has anyone used the .458 African and if so how does has it worked out in the field for you. Also any problems finding head stamped cartrige cases? [/IMG]

the 458 african is similar to the 458 vincents and my 458 Accurrate Reloading -

i can speak volumes around the concept of taking a RUM or 404 case, and making big bores to fit standard length actions.

This is the 3" Express based on a lengthened Lott case. I believe the 'African Express' is a based on a .404 cas shortened to 2.6", similar, as mentioned above, to the .450 Vincent Short

I just wanted to give Glenn one more option in his 458 search.

Examine the .458B&M built on a Winchester WSM receiver by SSK and designed to shoot the .458 B&M cartridge loaded with the CEB bullets in 450gr solid and 420gr non-con to the same POI. A short (18" or 20" bbl) light rifle which will deliver performance between that of a .458wm and .458Lott. It will be very handy in the bush.

Mine is currently undergoing load development and I cannot wait to get my hands on it. It will replace my RSM .458Lott.
