I don't think the warden can nail you for "using an artillery piece" because what hasn't been imagined yet can't be illegal . . . yet! However, if the warden does buy the "big shotgun" approach, then you're up a creek if your state forbids anything larger than 10 ga. Mine does. On the other hand, it is black powder . . .

It is first and foremost a black powder muzzle loader, most places do not classify this as a firearm. There just happen to be those two accesories on the sides, ie: the wheels. You can use bi-pods without any body saying anything, the wheels (2) equal a bi-pod.

PS: I thought of doing the same for hogs with my 1 1/2" bore cannon, using six dozen .50 cal RB. But you can never trust a hog to show up when and where you want him.
Aah, so that's the shot I heard last Nov 22 @ 8:00a.m. I thought it sounded a little louder than normal. However, the rotten egg smell wasn't that unusual for opening day of a WI deer season.
