I used a Trijicon 2.5 to 10 56mm objective with a yellow post. Worked great, plenty of light and no batteries to fail. My leopard came with 10 minutes of light left so the shot was in daylight. The yellow post is highly visible in the dark and can be turned down to reduce interference with night vision. I don't see any reason to spend more. IMO 30mm is a sales gimmick on a hunting rifle, I much prefer the one inch as my hunting eye doc toldl me the eye can handle just so much and a one inch does it all..I like small scopes on hunting rifles..I loved the 2.5, 7/8" Leupold Alaskan on a big bore rifle or any hunting rifle for that matter..I have never seen any advantage to making the target larger or magnifying my wiggle..I like a simple cross hair or the standard duplex which is my favorite. But to each his own and I,m certainly in the minority with my 3X Leupolds on most of my rifles. I have a VXR 1X4 on a .350 Rem mag I use for black bear hunting, so far I like it very much. I've taken two bears with it and in low light that lighted dot is very nice against the black of a bears side. For Dangerous Game hunting I shy away from anything that is battery operated, I like fixed scopes and keep them simple. I just have a feeling gimmicks could getcha bit, gored or clawed. One of the reasons I still like iron sights for DG, they don't lose their zero, you can't knock them out of wack if properly installed. A simple low power fixed scope with a 20 MM ojective is second best in holding its zero, The KISS principle really applies here. I read so much about illuminated scopes for Leopard, and IMO that is a conceived problem that does not exist..If you can't see your scope then its too dark to shoot anything or you need new batterys in your spot light. Just another vote for the 2.5x8 on the .375. I use the 1.5-5 for .416 rifles. They just work. Never a bit of trouble in thirty years.

I have a Minox ZA 1.2-6 illuminated 30mm scope on my 375Ruger bolt gun. I liked it do much that I bought 2 more for other guns. I think it would be just the ticket for Leopard Quick, Cheap, or Good: Pick Two
