My T-Rex now sports a Leupold 2x EER scout scope. Since it will be getting a new brake soon (and have the recoil of a .223 bench gun ) I plan on shooting it a lot more and work up some heavier loads. I'm looking to get a Burris 2-7x pistol scope with 'Posi-loc' for some better magnification. I've got about 11" of clearance from my eye to the scope right now. Any thoughts on the idea? Better idea? Hi Matt, I recall a problem with the posi-lock on heavy recoiling rifles. The story was that the lock added stress to the "variable" mechanism and contributed to failures. Could be urban legend or may have been fixed by Burris (I really like their products), but something to keep in mind. Might be worth a search on the matter. Leupold has/had their M8 EER scoped in 4X and 6X fixed and a 2.5-8X variable. Email Leupold tech support and ask what they recommend in terms of variables and whether it will hold up to the recoil of your monster. John Snodgrass at Leupold was very helpful to me. I may take a few shots with the 600 OK with and without brake with the video camera running just to show/see the difference the X-brake makes. These will NOT be 900gr bullets at 2,400fps but something more within the realm of a 5'5" 165lb past-middle-age guy like me.
