I love my burris scopes on my small rifles. How do they hold up on Big Bores.

Well Doc. i can tell you my 1969 1.5 to 3 Burris is still on my .375 H&H and has never lost its zero. I have the same scope on a .416 Rigby and have had the same results. Both are a liitle worn around the edges ,and have had their share of oops! but have not failed me. What i cant tell you is how the new ones hold up. Maybe some one here can help you out . Charlie.

I have 8 or 10 Burris scopes from a 1.75x6 to 6x24s on rifles from .223 to 338wm. I have had good luck with most of them. The only trouble was with a 6x24 and that took 6 trips to the factory and 2 yeas before they replaced it.

Whenm it came to scopeing my 416 taylor I brought a Leupold. vari X 3 1.75x6 If you can afford the extra money go with the leupold.

I had used a bunch of burris scopes until I got one that was new in the box with a fingernail sized chip out of the rear lens. I sent it back to burris without even removing it fully from the box. They wouldn't fix it and told me that I must have thrown it on the floor or something. Haven't bought one since

I've had a Burris Signature scope on my .375 H&H since the day I bought it and have fired hundreds of rounds through it and it's never lost zero. My only criticism is that it's heavy compared to a Leupold of the same type.

I have a Burris 2.5x on my .470 Capstick, which churns up 74 ft.-lbs. of recoil (According to the formula).

No problems whatsoever, but low-magnification, compact scopes from Leupold and Burris tend to be rugged.

I have had great results with Burris:
3X-9X on a .340 Wby
1.5X-5X on a .338 WM
2.75X Scout Scope on .375 Wby formerly and now on a .458 Lott.

No problems.
But Leupolds are lighter in weight and have better eye relief and warranty.

I think that their scopes are just OK and prefer leupold for a varity of reasons. I have at least three of the fulfield II which are good for the money. I also have a Euro Diamond which had a defective illuminated reticle out of the box. I returned it to the factory but they wouldn't replace it and repaired it instead. It seems to work OK but it's a repaired scope that I paid the "new" price for. I also have at least a half dozen leupolds that have traveled with me to many places. I had one problem, more cosmetic than anything and even after 6 months the scope was replaced! I really don't enjoy making negative comments about Burris but it is what it is.
