I have thought of putting a small red dot on my 458 Lott. Have looked at trijicon and Doctor. They seem too have a good reputation on big bores. Has anyone used one what are the pros and cons. Leupold makes some as do aim point. For those with experience which would be best and what size dot would be best. Thanks

I have three of the Doctor sights,I have used them on six trips to Africa & countless sessions at the range,I think they are either 3.5 or 4.0 size dot,I mount them using a QD setup,I have never had any issues at all,my heavy caliber rifles are 470ne,458Lott & 500/416.

If you go to the Heym USA site,go under shop, look at the Dokter sight & mount, there are a couple of pictures there, the top rib has to be drilled & slotted to fit the base,it's a minor job & my smith does it for $ 50.The mount works real well & to put it on or off takes only a few seconds,no special tools needed.
