Our illustrious forum leader Mitch has a 577 T-rex, hopefully he'll chime in. You might also want to do a search in the forum, and set it for one year back, there should be a few threads there.

Per577, Have a look at our Reloading Page, we have some loads for it. They were developed in A-Square brass, which is bloody awfull! We have the Hannibal rifle, and so far I have not met one single person who liked the stock - apart from a gentleman who posts here. Still, I recommend you buy the rifle - it is fun to shoot with reduced loads, and then give your friends full house loads

Per, Saeed is being very kind. I am the only person on this board who seems to like the A-Square stocks. The are big, chunky and incredibly solid. As 500grains said, buy it. If you don't like it, next trip over to the States, swing through Alaska and I will buy it from you. Cold cash in the airport. [ 03-13-2003, 07:00: Message edited by: Roger Rothschild ]

I have the Hannibal in calibers 500 A-Square, 375 H&H Magnum and 338 Exacaliber. My son has 500 A-Square and 375 H&H Magnum in the Hannibal as well. On these A-Square stocks they are part of a rifle that makes a tool that I have come to count on. A tool to be used and yes sometimes which gets abused. I have been known to use the hose to wash the dirt and grime from the rifle collected in the field that day. Then stand it in the corner and let air dry. No rust they are teflon coated. Interestingly enough no change of impact has been observed with the stock getting saturated in the day afield or the bath as some would have you believe. Oh, I caress mine when I am showing them off but that is all. With regards to the stock and it's size it would be easy to say some men are real men and have the physical stature to handle these rifles but that is not the point. It is my opinion some of us have been educated with higher academics plus thru experience afield shooting/hunting. With that, we have come to understand the concept of physics that has been applied in the development of the A-Square stock. You can become equally enlightened. Get the book ANY SHOT YOU WANT and read about stock design then reread it. Then get serious, borrow a narrow easily gripped stock bolt gun, oh yes a double as well and of course a Hannibal in similiar calibers and go to the range. Now saddle up to the bench, shoot each 6 times making yourself shoot accurately, that is what counts. Then do it again. Now you can say you have been educated academically and practically. I think then you will appreciate what Art Alphin and others have done with the design of this stock and rifle. If you think differently than I, that is okay. However, I would question your sanity, breeding and wonder if your trying to peddle another product.

Dr Bob: You are right on the money. The A square design is one of the best designs for really big guns. Shoot an original .505 made in Bristol, it hurts, the A Square is very Tolerable. I like the whole design they have worked for me and several clients in the past. I have a .577 Ty. comming soon from Art I'cant wait to shoot it after seeing Saeed's videos. Cheers, Aleko
