saxon458 AR Donor actions
Would a .338 Winchester Magnum Ruger M-77 work for a .458 Ar Donor or do I need a 7mm Rem. Mag., Thanks in advance. Saxon.

Actually I think you will find the 338 and 300 Win mag have bigger barrels so the inletting will be easier, you'll take less wood out
7mm, 300, 338 all have the same parent case so all will the same action size
The big thing, the most important thing with the Ruger Stock is getting it reinforced, crossbolts, a wrist pin and action bedding, a second recoil lug on the new barrel about 4 to 5 inches infront of the action and make sure none of the action is touching the stock at all at the rear tang.
It's actually easier than it all sounds, just ask PT and Jeffe, they have done a great job
I've done my hawkeye as well, I'll send some pics when it's all complete

saxonThank you for the quick response, the local gunstore has one in synthetic stock with a leupold scope for $599.00, I think I can get them a little lower, but it looks like a good gun for a donor.I 've caught the big bore bug recently, picking up 2 Cz's one in 375 H&H and a .458 Lott, . Thanks, saxon.
