Ebony tip is new to the African; can't recall seeing the cross-bolt in the past.
Previously Ruger said they would not stock the 416 Ruger in wood due to splitting issues. Is one to suppose that problem is now solved?

My African .223 has a visible crossbolt. I like the ebony tip. Not so much the brake. Wish I would've gotten an Alaskan in 416 when I had the chance.

Click on the "Gunsite Scout Rifle" if you want to see just how ugly a rifle Ruger is capable of making today. Crossing an AR-15 with a bolt action rifle results in an esthetic disaster.
