My .375 fly at 2.950 fts. with this bullet and impact in less of 1" at 150 Meters. Excellent performance, buy I never hunted with this bullet. I think in Red Deer (200 / 250 kgs.) in the mountains of the south of my country. I appreciate any hunting experience with Sierra 250 BT. I'm sorry for my bud English. Best Regards for all and my best wish for the new year! Hector

Hector, Your English is just fine! You are getting great performance from these bullets in your rifle IMHO. I wouldn't hestitate to use them on Red Deer. I tried the Sierra .375 250's in two .375H&H's, a Blaser R93 & a Winchester Model 70. I never managed to get any resonable accuracy from either rifle, using H-4350 so put the project and the bullets on the back shelf. It was a nice effort with these bullets anyway, but I've since relegated myself to using 250 grain bullets in my 9.3x62 and 300 grainers in my .375H&H. Cheers, Number 10

I have taken eland, impala and wildebeest with the 250 sierra bt in 375. I would recomend slowing the bullet down to about 2400 - I seem to get best performance and expansion at that speed. On all the animals where I have recovered the bullet - at these speeds - I have had excellent weight retention and expansion. On a fully grown bull eland weighing in at around 750kg's the sierra knocked the animal flat with a heart lung shot. Kudude is correct, the bullet may have trouble holding together at 2900.

I use the Jensen 225 grs bullet in my .375 R93 on occasion, it is a good performer on paper, but I am of the belief that the .375 is at it's best with a 300 grs bullet. The 250 sierra has intruiged me for sure, I have used the 300 grs sierra on all sorts of African game and deer too with splendid results Aleko Hits count, misses don't

HCR, I used my .375 H&H with the .375/250grBTSP Sierra GameKing on a 350 pound black bear. It was hit in the heart-lung-shoulder area at 200 yards and just dropped dead and rolled down the hillside. My MV was 2700 fps. A good load. Your velocity is quite exceptional for a .375 H&H, and would make the bullet prone to failure at close range, but if it lands at 300 yards should be fine for the big stags. I have come to prefer 300 grain bullets at 2750 fps in a .375 Weatherby equivalent, using a tougher bullet than the Sierra GameKing. Like Saeed, always ready for anything with the same load, near or far, stem to stern. Barnes TSX, North Fork SP, Swift A-Frame, Nosler Partition, etc.: pick the one that shoots best in your rifle. My .375 H&H load for Africa was the .375/300 gr Barnes X-Bullet at 2528 fps MV, and it performed admirably. Your rifle obviously likes the 250 grain GameKing. You have to decide if you want to risk bullet disintegration at close range.

I have 3 rifles in .375H&H, my favorite caliber for Africa. This is my old .375 (from 1984) a Mauser action with Shilen (26")barrel, and the reload is: WW cases, Rem. 9 1/2 Mgm primers, 75 grs. of Rel 15 powder (lot 89.115), O.A.L. 3.546" with the Sierra BT 250 grs. 2.947 fts / 4.820 fts/lbs2. Ideal for long shots in the mountain if the bullet resist the velocity. Thanks at all for your answers. Best Regards. Hector

Have used this projectile to take sambar, very fragile and lots of blood shot meat. Used win 760 powder, shot well, but have elected to go back to hornady 270gr sp, less meat damege and a bit harder. cheers cc
