Cabelas has one listed in their gun romm at $5700. Opinions? I like this rifle, but would like the opinion of some of the big bore crowd.

Custom bolt guns usually take a pretty good hit in the resale dept. (which is good for you) and I doubt you could have Frank Wells build you another for that money. Moreover, I'm sure they've got some wiggle room in the price.

I can't imagine what anyone here could say bad about Frank Wells' work.

I have looked over this gun a lot 3 or 4 times. It's a very nice gun. Put together very well.
The only problem I have with it is Frank took a lot of metal out of the front of the recoil lug in the receiver, leaving almost no feed ramp. Otherwise I would have bought it a long time ago.
This may not be a problem. Certainly Frank didn't think it was,and who am I to say it is. Just my own opinon.

Is this the gun that John Hunter owned?
